My name is Sander and I am from The Netherlands, yet another Dutchie that has a travel blog! However, do not expect tips for the best hotels or restaurants on this blog. My travel bucket list looks very different from most as I like to explore places that few people go to. These are places that generally have a negative image due to their portrayal in popular media. While there might be some truth to the statements made there, I do not believe that they tell the full story. I believe that story deserves to be told, which I intend to do in this blog.

I am interested in post-conflict areas, abandoned places and areas with an interesting modern and geopolitical history. There are many reasons I enjoy travelling to those places, but first and foremost I love challenging my own pre-conceived notions of places and people. I often find that we are more alike than we realize. I hope to explore these thoughts further throughout the posts on this blog.
